Alfred J. Curran, of Marshfield, passed away on January 22, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Catherine (Booth) Curran; loving father of Susan Curran of Raynham, Caitlin Pike and her husband Jay of Easton, Briana Curran and her husband Andrew McDonough of Salem; dear grandfather of Molly, Emily, Olivia, and Griffin. Alfred is predeceased by siblings David, Dottie, and Betty, but leaves his sister Mary Steeves and her husband Scott of Amesbury, brother Walter Curran and his wife Marie of Delaware, and many nieces and nephews.
Al may have been born in Hopkinton but from the age of two weeks on he was a Southie boy through and through. From the L Street bathhouse to Gate of Heaven to the L Street Tavern, Al roamed the streets and there made life-long friends. The crowning achievements of his life though were snaring Cathy, the wee girl from Belfast and Al's Angels, his three daughters. Later Al's Angels expanded to include his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his gang from Southie, Al was lucky enough to be surrounded by great friends from Marshfield - the self-named "Do Nuthins" as well as his post-retirement southern based gang at Shady Haven in Englewood, FL.
