Obituary

Alice Martha (Daniszewski) Lydon Baker, 72, of Whitman, passed away on March 27, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Frank W. Baker, Jr; loving mother of Kristen McDonough (husband Michael) of Kingston, Jennifer Schissler (husband Jason) of Colorado; cherished grandmother of Jack McDonough, Hannah and Katelyn Schissler; loving stepmother of Frank W. Baker, III (wife Debra) of Whitman and his daughter Melody and Kimberly Baker of Whitman and her daughter Taylor; dear sister of Liz McColgan (husband Edward) of Dorchester and the late Edward Daniszewski and Tina McColgan.

Alice grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Jeremiah E Burke High School in 1965. She then went on to Boston Business School and graduated in 1968.

Her first job was at Jordan-Marsh in downtown Boston where she was proud to be one of the few people to gift wrap the Santa Suit for Boston Pops Conductor, Arthur Fiedler.

The rest of her career involved working in various medical offices.

She loved spending time with her family and showering them with her special gifts and candy.

She and Frank enjoyed riding their motorcycle. Together they were members of the Gold Wing Road Riders and American Legion Riders. They also loved the ocean, especially having a late lunch at Hull Gut, watching the sun set over the Boston skyline.

Mimi's hobbies included sewing, making jewelry, crocheting and knitting baby blankets and hats for Neonatal units.

She was caring, loving and always had a friendly smile for everyone. Her proudest moment was marrying the love of her life on December 15, 2019
