CHASE, Andrew, 55 years old, of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury, Santa Barbara CA, Cohasset, Scituate and Brockton passed away peacefully at his home in Marshfield on January 17, 2019 in the loving arms of his wife and family after a hard-fought and courageous battle with Glioblastoma.
Andrew was born in Brockton, MA on May 23, 1963. He is the youngest of 11 children and son of Claire Chase and the late Edward L. Chase of Cohasset. His generosity, thoughtfulness, and love for his family will be greatly missed by his wife Jacqueline (Zargani) Chase; daughters, Caitlin, Julia and Ava Chase and step-son Ayrton Zargani all of Massachusetts; his siblings: Peter (Kathleen) Chase of Bridgewater; Mark (Laura) Chase of Cohasset; Janet (Don) Gibson of Marshfield; Stephen (Stephanie) Chase of Scituate; Mary Claire Chase of Boston; Jean Chase of Hobe Sound, FL; Sarah Chase of Scituate; Caroline Chase Condon(Bill) of Scituate; and sister-in-law, Seana Kelley of Milton. He is predeceased by his brothers Christopher Chase of Milton and Richard Chase of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Andrew is cherished by many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Thayer Academy, the University of Vermont and Babson College, Andrew started his career in Santa Barbara and Silicon Valley, CA before returning to Massachusetts to join the family business, Chase Corporation. In 2003 he became the President and CEO of Sunburst EMS with locations in West Bridgewater, MA and Melbourne, FL.
Andrew gave generously to his community. He served as both a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Duxbury Youth Basketball. He coached the girls' teams for many years and was instrumental in establishing a scholarship fund for graduating high school seniors. He also served as both a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Duxbury Rural and Historical Society. Andrew and his daughters held many fundraising events for Horizons for Homeless Children. He was a member of the Duxbury Yacht Club.
Easygoing, warm and friendly, Andrew will be forever remembered for his infectious laugh, love of music and pink shirts.
The family will hold a private mass for Andrew. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with family for a celebration of Andrew's life on January 26th from 1-4 PM at The River Club, 78 Border Street in Scituate.
