In Loving Memory of Anne Unis (1930-2024)
Anne Unis passed away after a brief illness on January 1, 2024 at the age of 93. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family was the center of her world.
Anne grew up in Norwood, with her father Mak C. Norton, mother Anne E. Norton and sister Marie (Norton) Delaney. Anne's sister and best friend Marie passed away suddenly on Sunday 12/31/2024. Anne dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning her career as a Registered Nurse in 1952. Her compassion and dedication to her profession were evident in the countless lives she touched over her 58 years of service until her retirement in 2010. For the last 20 years of her career, she was the head nurse of Regina Cleri in Boston, the retirement home for the priests of the Archdiocese of Boston.
Anne and her late husband Walter S. Unis purchased their home in Marshfield in 1964 where she raised her family. Anne cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Anne's family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a wealth of memories filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
She was also a woman of many talents and interests. She was an avid sewer and quilter, known for her intricate and beautiful creations that she lovingly shared with her family and friends. Her quilts were not only works of art but also symbols of her love for those she sewed for.
Anne will be deeply missed by her children Joanne, MaryJeanne, Robert, Walter, Mark, Stephen, and Julia; her grandchildren Beth, Cody, Erin, Shawn, Patrick, Riley, Nancy, Linda, Elaine, and Katie; her great-grandchildren Connor, Clara, Leo, and Jude; and all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and creativity will live on in those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her life.
