Obituary

Anne Marie (MacEachern) Vallier, of Marshfield and formerly of Quincy, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Anne was born in Dorchester to the late Allan MacEachern and Anna (MacDonald) MacEachern. She grew up in the Montclair section of North Quincy and graduated from Archbishop Cushing High School in South Boston, Class of 1955. As a young woman, Anne participated in several beauty pageants and was proudly crowned Miss Wollaston in 1954.

In 1960, Anne married the love of her life, the late John E. Vallier, at St. Anne’s Church in Wollaston. Together, they settled in the Norfolk Downs section of North Quincy, where they raised their three children.

Once her children were older, Anne returned to the workforce and began a career with Quincy Public Schools. She served as an Executive Assistant for more than 20 years, working with several Superintendents of Schools before retiring in 2001.

In 2008, Anne and John moved to Marshfield to be closer to their family.

Anne is survived by her three children: Jane Marie Louwerenburg and her husband, Binno, of Venlo, The Netherlands; Susan Anne Skawinski and her husband, Todd, of China, Maine; and John E. Vallier and his wife, Lisa, of Marshfield.

She was the beloved Nina/Nana to Gregory and Jessica Hirsch, Mark and Eva Louwerenburg , and Brooke and Alexis Vallier, and the loving great-grandmother of Zoey.

Anne was the sister of the late Allan J. MacEachern and John V. MacEachern. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara MacEachern and Cindy MacEachern, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donations in Anne’s memory may be made to Cops for Kids with Cancer, by mail to  P.O. Box 850956, Braintree, MA 02185, or online at:  https://copsforkidswithcancer.org/

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the caregivers and staff of South Shore Hospital, Pratt 4; Braintree Hospital; Benchmark Senior Living at Hanover; and Beacon Hospice for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided to Anne and her family throughout the last two months.
