Anthony "Tony" Alves, Jr., of Carver died suddenly on March 8, 2023. He was born and raised in Scituate, beloved son of Nancy (Lopes) Alves and the late Anthony "Smokey" Alves. Tony had attended Scituate schools. He was known for his easy smile and being a friend to all who knew him.

Tony worked as a heavy equipment operator. He had a passion for motorcycles and car racing but was just as happy listening to music, walking in the woods or spending time at the ocean. He was amazing at taking care of those he loved, and enjoyed a special relationship with his nephew, Darien.

Tony is survived by his mother Nancy of Scituate, his sister, Monica McCall and her husband Jonah of Scituate, his stepmother Martha W. Alves of Carver, his niece Kaileigh M. Spinola, and his nephew Darien J. McCall. He is predeceased by his father, Anthony "Smokey" Alves, his sister Deborah M. Spinola, his brother Douglas M. Spinola, and his nephew Michael D. Spinola.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, located at 1 Kent Street in Scituate Harbor, and will be followed by a collation in the parish hall. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
