Lyden, Antoinette Jean (Artie) beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully at home with her family on January 15, 2015, after a long illness. She was a devout and faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church for her entire life. Artie lived by example and was loved for her kind heart, generous nature and unending thoughtfulness to others. She was the loving wife of the late William Francis Lyden. They had many happy years together and were devoted to each other. She will be sadly missed by her children, Kathleen, Theodore (Teddy) and his companion Marie Looby, Monica Mullin and husband Sean, Mary Anne (Mae) Cronin and husband Dennis, John, Jean McCusker and husband Daniel, Judith Deady and husband John and her beloved son, the late William F. Lyden, Jr. She was also predeceased by the treasured Theodore "Uncle Ted" Belton. Nana leaves her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, William III, Gregory, Anne and husband Chris, Sean, William, Brendan, Austin, Kelly, Crystal and Courtney and great grandchildren, Madeline, Olivia, Miles and Nora. Artie was a lifelong resident of Weymouth, daughter of Angelo and Josephine (Cisco) Pomarico and raised with her brothers and sisters, who predeceased her, all of whom she dearly loved: Margaret Braccia, Nicholas Pomarico, Mary Muscillo, Rosalie Perrone, Lucia Olson, Clara Gherardi, William Pomarico, Joseph Pomarico, Anna Morse and Prudence Lilla. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Artie was a kind and loyal friend, touching so many lives during her journey here. Artie never forgot a birthday or special occasion and shared in all of her loved ones' joys and sorrows. She embraced her children's friends as well and was a second mother to Susan and Melanie Furlong, who were equally loving to her and always brought a smile to her face. Artie was a special woman, who loved purely and with all her heart. We will always love and remember her. Our family would also like to extend our thanks and deepest gratitude to Nancy, Edith and Patti, who cared for her with such devotion and sincere affection, and for the very special care she received, first from Dr. Eugene Lindsey and later Harvard Vanguard and Seasons staff. Funeral services will be held Friday morning January 23 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in East Weymouth. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 22 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, (Route 139) Marshfield from 4-8 PM.
