Arline Frances Mammone passed away peacefully at her home with her living family by her side on December 16, 2024. She was 81 years old.
A resident of Marshfield for over 40 years, Arline was born and raised in Roxbury and was the daughter of the late William and Helen Moore. Arline attended local schools and graduated from Jamaica Plain high school with the class of 1961. After graduation, Arline worked at the Telephone Company for many years. She met and married the love of her life John Mammone Jr. on October 26, 1968. The newlyweds moved from Boston to Marshfield in 1972 to purchase their first home and start a family. Together they enjoyed being residents of the small seaside town. Arline and John shared 47 years of loving marriage until John's passing in 2015.
Arline was a beloved member of St. Ann by the Sea Church serving as a devoted Eucharist minister and Lector. Arline was a very accomplished hairdresser, cosmetologist, fitness and nutritionist. She was blessed with many talents and creativity. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, decorating, crocheting, and creating beautiful jewelry unique to her larger-than-life personality.
Arline was the loving mother of John J. Mammone and his wife Suzanne of Marshfield and Adam Mammone and his wife Irene of Kingston. Arline was the cherished grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren, Madeline Mammone of Marshfield and Andrew and Ryan Mammone of Kingston. She was the dear sister of Eleanor Winfield of Houston TX and the late William Moore of Boston. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Arline will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, strong faith, and love of family. For all who knew and loved Arline, she will be missed dearly, thought of fondly, and loved forever.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, December 18 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 86 Court Street in Plymouth. Services will conclude with interment in the Duxbury Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street in Duxbury.
