Arlyn C. Mozoki, formerly Marshfield, MA, passed away peacefully Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Harbor House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hingham, MA; she was almost 83.
Arlyn was born in May of 1940 in Union, NJ. The youngest of four daughters, she was an accomplished athlete in high school. She also loved the great outdoors, being around "the water" and all sports. Arlyn taught her children and grandchildren to appreciate the outdoors and recreation. A "later in life" graduate of Kean College in NJ, earning a degree in Recreational Education, she continued with sporting endeavors and was a softball pitcher in a women's league for over 20 years. Married to William Mozoki in 1959, they raised their three children, Cynthia, Patricia, and James in Westfield, NJ, where she resided for more than 40 years.
Arlyn was a devoted mother, grandmother and, newly, a great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed walking on the beach, reading, artwork, a good fishing adventure and spending time at the Jersey Shore and on Nantucket. She could also always be found watching the New England Patriots.
She is survived by a sister, Mona Laguna of Lakehurst NJ; her children Cynthia (and Jon) Cohen of Scotch Plains, NJ, Patricia (and Roger) Stolte of Nantucket, MA, and James Mozoki of Marshfield, MA, and Emily Comeau Mozoki of Humarock, MA. And by her grandchildren; Amanda Cohen (and fiancé Steve Ripa) , Jarek Cohen, Trevor Cohen, Olivia Mozoki, Brock Mozoki, and great-granddaughter Riley Ripa. Also, many nieces and nephews and their children. Arlyn will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and playful good humor.
A private celebration of Arlyn's life will take place at a later time. In lieu of cards or flowers, donations by check can be made to the: Marshfield High School Swim & Dive "Splash Club", 3 Apple Way, Apt. 3310, Marshfield, MA 02050.
