Barbara Civitarese (Trabucco) 77, of Marshfield, passed away peaceful at her home on April 4th. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Louis Civitarese, Jr. Beloved mother of Jean Murphy of South Carolina, Karen Civitarese of Marshfield, Stephen & Tara Civitarese of Barnstable, Christine Civitarese of Barnstable. Lynne Civitarese of Pembroke, Kathy Dunnington of Marshfield and the late Michael Civitarese. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara grew up in Boston with her parents Bertha and Howard Trabucco and siblings Joanne, Buddy and Jimmy. She graduated from Jerimiah Burke High School. The Civitarese family moved from Quincy to Marshfield in 1973. Barbara worked at the Marshfield Papa Ginos for many years before retiring to take care of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and best friends Joan and Cookie. She was happiest while working on projects in and around her house. Never one to slow down, she lived her life viewing each day as an opportunity to accomplish something new. Barbara was beautiful inside and out. She was kind, generous, funny and incredibly strong. No one could ask for a better mother, nana, sister or friend.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday.
