Viola, Benedict R., 89, of Marshfield, July 20, 2015. Beloved husband of Laura G. (Pericolo) Viola. Loving father of Anthony and his wife Maryann of Marshfield. Dear grandfather of John, Elizabeth, and Caitlin. Brother to Mary Viola of Somerville and the late Frances Viola.

Born in Somerville, Benedict graduated Somerville High School and attended Bentley University. A Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, Benedict retired from the Somerville Post Office as a Letter Carrier of 30 years. He was a devoted family man and loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street., Rte. 139, Marshfield on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 8:30 to 9:30, prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Couch Cemetery in Marshfield.
