Obituary

Bernard (Bernie) J. Longo, 87, of Marshfield Massachusetts, died peacefully on April 8th, 2026 after a long illness. Bernie was a friend and mentor to many and was admired and respected by everyone who came in contact with him.

The son of Carmine and Agnes Longo, he grew up in White Plains New York. Upon graduating High School, he enlisted into the United States Coast Guard. In 1960 he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Broadhurst, and moved to Marshfield Massachusetts where they started their family. Bernie worked as a salesman with Hallmark Cards, a supervisor at the Mass Turnpike Authority Tunnel Control Center, and perhaps the occupation he will be remembered for most was his work at the Green Harbor Golf Club in Marshfield where he rose to the position of Director of Golf Emeritus.
