On July 8, 2017, surrounded by his four children and daughter in law, Bernard R. Patriacca, Jr. peacefully transitioned to whatever lies beyond this life.  While he was sad to go, and to miss out on the fish he had not yet caught and the cribbage games he had not yet won, there was a piece of him that looked forward to being reunited with his late wife, Darla. It seems only fitting that the date he passed, 7/8, is also the year of their marriage.

Bernie held onto a childlike wonder for nature, for adventure, and for history.  His enthusiasm was contagious and was matched by his wisdom.  Quiet moments on a trail, a drift boat, the deck, or a long car ride are undoubtedly some of the most insightful conversations he had with his family.  His guidance, his love, and his humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children: Todd Patriacca, Lees Patriacca, Seth Patriacca, and Lori Patriacca; his daughters-in-law, Jen Patriacca & Kendall Patriacca; and his grandchildren, Reid Patriacca, Boyd Patriacca, Lacy Patriacca & Adam Patriacca.  The family is waiting with hope and love for Bernie's fifth grandchild, Ella Holmes Patriacca, to arrive later this month.  He is also survived by his brother, Bob Patriacca and his wife Nancy, his nephews Michael and Ben.  In addition, he is survived by a large extended family and an incredible network of friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support.  Bernie seized life everyday like it was his last.  In his spirit, the family hopes you will continue to seek the joy and wonder in each day.  Go fishing.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139), Marshfield, and will conclude with a brief service at 1:30pm.
