Bettina "Betty" A. Stone, born January 19, 1933, passed away July 22nd 2021, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was the beloved and devoted wife to the late William J. Stone, loving mother to Sharon A. Conton, William J. Stone, Jr. and his wife Eleanor J. Stone, Michael R. Stone, Bettina "Tina" M. Roth, Ginah L. Ferriter, and Paul E. Stone, treasured Nana to Sarah E. Conton, Amy L. Conton, Leanne F. Stone, Courtney M. Clark, Sean F. Conton, William F. Williamson, Candice R. Prouty, Michael C. Stone, Medora L. Ferriter, and Mary Kate Ferriter, and great-grandmother to Jack Stone, Wesley Cark, Mace Sullivan, Hadley Clark, Isla Clark, Kole Sullivan, JJ Dean, Margot Clark, Arya Prouty and Coraline Prouty.

Betty and Bill Stone married in Boston in 1955 and settled down by the beach in Marshfield in 1966. Her family will carry on her legacy of big Italian dinners on holidays and will even miss her strict instructions for how to properly send her mail, position her rubbish barrels for pick up, and double bag her groceries. However, her kids will be unable to recreate her famous meatballs because she always kept out that one secret ingredient.
Betty was known as Nana Betty and cared for countless neighborhood children for decades. Nothing made her happier than watching her grandchildren and acquired neighborhood grandchildren wait for the bus on her front porch, play in the backyard, and sending them to the market with $.60 for a candy bar.

Nana Betty will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones but her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A Mass will be held on Thursday, July 29th, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Green Harbor, followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to a local Veterans association, Marshfield AMVETS Post 1996, 1321 Ocean Street, Marshfield MA 02050.
