Bonnie S. (Bliss) Peterson of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury, passed away at age 69 on April 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with bone cancer. The treasured soulmate (and college sweetheart) of Richard (Rick) Peterson of Marshfield, they had recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. An iconic figure on the Boston advertising scene, Bonnie spent 38 years as the Display Advertising Coordinator of the Wall Street Journal in the Boston office prior to retirement. Daughter of the late Robert Bliss, Sr., and Dorothy Cole of Wenham, Bonnie attended Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, Lasell College, and Katherine Gibbs School prior to joining Dow Jones & Co. Also active in many companion animal activities, she volunteered at area shelters and charities while adopting nearly a dozen of "the best dogs ever" over four decades, including her dear "Gurnet" and "Lucy", who survive her. Bonnie was also a friend of Bill W. Besides her husband, Bonnie is survived by her brothers Robert Bliss of Charlestown, MA, John Bliss of Largo, FL, and her sister, Carol Demers-Taeger of Kyles Ford, TN, as well as several nieces and nephews who were extremely dear to her.

Memorial services will include a wake from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and a service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website for those unable to attend. There will also be a Celebration of Life service later this summer when COVID-19 limitations have eased and hopefully will allow for the kind of gathering for "Team Bonnie" that she would have liked.
