Brian Dennis Campbell of Marshfield, MA passed away on June 16th 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband and devoted father and leaves behind his wife, Rita Haidul-Campbell, his 5 children Benjamin Campbell, Emily Campbell, Jordan Campbell, Hannah Campbell, and Ian Campbell. He was born in 1953 to George Campbell and Vivian Campbell in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the oldest of 15 and had 10 brothers, 4 sisters, and a stepmother Barbara Campbell.

Brian graduated from Abington High School and then went on to UMass Amherst from which he received his bachelor's degree. Brian loved Amherst and met many of his longtime friends there. He often went up to visit his children who also attended school there and particularly loved the ice cream farm. Brian was well-known for his love of ice cream, beach days, and lunching with his friends and family. Brian was a great friend to all and had a sense of humor that always brightened the mood of those around him. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and had many friendships lasting over 50 years. He met his wife Rita at UMass Boston where they both worked and he later continued his career at Boston Financial, working there for over 20 years.

Brian loved to spend his free time traveling and driving anywhere and everywhere. He particularly loved Maine and often went skiing with his wife and children in Sugarloaf where he proudly stayed on the bunny hill, York Beach where he soaked up the sun, and Bar Harbor where he visited relatives. No drive was too far for Brian and his children knew they could always count on him to show up when they needed him (even if the car he showed up in barely worked). Brian particularly loved his red Honda Pilot which lasted him for 400,000 miles, which he loved to brag about. Brian also took classes at the University of Michigan and often went back to visit friends and attend Michigan football games.

Brian's favorite thing was being a father and husband. His children were his proudest accomplishment, and the love of his family is what kept him fighting for so long. Brian was a wonderful husband, father, brother, friend, and coworker. He is greatly missed, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Immediately followed by a memorial service.
