Brian Michael Gilmore of Duxbury passed away suddenly on June 16, 2024. Brian was the beloved son of Raymond "Sean Casey" Gilmore and the late Joanne R. (DeMarco) Gilmore and father of the late Dante J. Gilmore. He was dear brother of Chris Gilmore and his wife Diana of Easton, Jodi FitzGerald and her husband Drew of Duxbury, and uncle of Drew FitzGerald.

Brian was a high energy, restless child. In high school he joined the wrestling team and injured his back in a wrestling match, which led to a life of pain. He graduated from the University of Syracuse and enjoyed a successful career in the hospitality industry. The death of his son, Dante, in 2014 devastated the entire family and was something from which Brian never quite recovered.

Brian was a lion with the hand of a lamb…strength of a ram who loved the sea and sand; as a boy always restless, never still for a minute. If trouble was lurking, he'd find his way in it. Wrestled in high school, injured his back, with pain all his life, his future was black. University of Syracuse degree and excuse to party and learn, putting all to good use. Hospitality was his industry chosen, successful at first but pain left it frozen. As we now know, Big Pharma came knocking, bringing his breath to an end oh so shocking. His dad although sad as are sister and brother. He is now at peace with his son and his mother.
