Carl Russell of Marshfield and Plymouth passed away on December 19 2024. He was the son of the late Edwin H and Gertrude I. (Leighton) Russell and beloved husband of Barbara J. (Ferris) Russell. He leaves behind his brother John L. Russell and John's wife Michaele Russell of Scituate, his brother-in-law Mark A. Lydon of Marshfield, and his sister-in-law Sabra Ladd of Chester, MD. Carl is predeceased by his 2 sisters, Edie A. (Russell) Ladd and Nancy E. (Russell) Lydon and his brother-in-law Richard B. Ladd.

Carl leaves behind his 5 children Melissa A. (Russell) Norman and her husband Mike of Rutland, VT, Carl E. Russell, Jr., of Sqantum, MA, Heather L. Russell of Peterborough, NH, Sareta S. Jorgensen of Marshfield, MA, and Rebecca Jorgensen of Bradenton, FL. He also leaves his 8 grandchildren, Kelsey and John, Aidan, Grace, and Lauren, Elijah, Kendra and Stella, and 4 great-grandchildren, Russell, Dorothy, Ruthie, and Aelia; all of whom he loved spending time with.

Carl attended Scituate Hight School (Class of 1964), Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Northeastern University. He worked in the defense electronics industry for many years before becoming self-employed as an engineer.

Carl served the Town of Marshfield on the Zoning Board of Appeals for 20 years, a position he thoroughly enjoyed, and served as Chairman for 12 years. Carl was also a member of the Daniel Webster Masonic Lodge for 25 years, rising to the 32-degree Mason.

Carl enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at the Lakehouse. He also enjoyed being Captain of his own pontoon boat for many years on the Billington Sea.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
