Carol A. (Shaw) Mullowney. 77, of Marshfield, formerly of Belmont, was called to Heaven on June 20, 2017. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late James T.F. Mullowney. Loving mother of Lacey Mullowney and partner Cherie Ballard of Austin, TX, James T.F. Mullowney, Jr. of Newport, RI, Patricia McDonough and husband Patrick of Stoneham, Edward Mullowney and wife Maura of Belmont, Jean Morris and husband Michael of Walpole.  Adoring Nana of Natasha Naydia and Roman Ballard, Kaleigh Mullowney, Erin McDonough, James and Katelyn Mullowney, Henry, Shannon,  and Thomas Morris; great-grandmother of Anastasia Osorio. Carol leaves behind her Sisters in-law, Irene Shaw of Lexington and Maureen Mullowney of Plymouth, and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

Carol was born in Belmont to the late Clifford and Ann Shaw. She graduated from Regis College in Weston, MA. Carol and Jim were married in 1961 and together they raised 5 children. After decades of being a homemaker, Carol returned to the workforce in the security department of Filenes. She eventually retired to Marshfield to live with Jim in their home by the sea.  Carol will be remembered for her love of reading, drinking coffee, and talking with family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 Marshfield. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday June 26, 2017, at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann's by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St. Marshfield at 10:00 am. Carol will be laid to rest next to Jim in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 pm.
