Catherine Ruth Cushing, of Duxbury, died suddenly of heart failure on July 3, at the age of 90. Ruth was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Kempton of Duxbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Cushing. Loving mother of Charles Cushing Jr. of Duxbury and Jack Cushing (Jayne) of Frederick, MD. Devoted grandmother of Benjamin and Eric Cushing. Step-grandmother of Brian, Meredith and Joseph Lauman. Sister of Regina Reynolds(Stanley). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was a longtime volunteer at the Duxbury Thrift Shop and was active in the Duxbury Council on Aging. A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, July 8 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139, Marshfield from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Duxbury.
