Proud grandmother of Elizabeth and Emily Jager, David, Michael, Benjamin and Quinn McCarron, and two great-grandsons, Edward and Cole. A graduate of Hingham High School and Burdett College in Boston, Kay's excellent secretarial and organizational skills led to a long career as a bookkeeper in the insurance industry. During her 63 years as a Marshfield resident, she was active in community programs including Girl and Boy Scouts and tutoring English as a Second Language. Kay loved decorating birthday cakes for her family and was a skilled seamstress and creator of heirloom baby quilts and accessories. She prized family history and enjoyed researching and creating her family tree, including preserving photographs of her ancestors and relatives. She instilled her passion for reading and literature in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and grandnieces and nephews by gifting children's books for all their special occasions. Above all else, Kay was devoted to her family and her many close friends, including a group of life-long girlfriends from the Hingham High School Class of 1952.
At Kay's request, memorial services will be private.
