Charles C. Doble of Marshfield passed away on October 10, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Boston on February 16, 1939, to Leo and Ruth (Capeless) Doble, Charlie was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1957 before joining the U.S. Air Force. During his service, Charlie and Mary Louise Barry began their courtship by corresponding through the mail, encouraged by their mothers. They married in 1962 and, in 1967, settled in Marshfield, where they built a life together with their six children.

Charlie worked for the Tedeschi Corporation for over 45 years, starting as a deli manager and eventually becoming a regional manager for Tedeschi's convenience stores. Family was always the heart of Charlie's world. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou, and their children: Kelliann Haggerty and her husband Robert of Halifax, Charlie Doble of Hudson, Maryann Bell and her husband Jeffrey of Marshfield, Christopher Doble and his wife Nikki of Santa Rosa, CA, and Nicole Burt and her husband Randy of Marshfield. He was also the father of the late Scott Doble of Marshfield.  In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his siblings: Fred Doble, Leo Doble Jr., Ruth McIntyre, Claire Bradley, Frances Pasquantonio, and Elinor Harkins.

Charlie loved being a grandfather and was a proud Papa to Danielle Brady, Andrew Haggerty, Ian and Patrick Doble, Meghan Idels, James and Brian Bell, Siobhan and Aidan Keane, and Tommy and Moss Doble. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Connor, Jackson, and Emery Brady, and Lucas Doble. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charlie's life on Thursday, October 17, from 10am to noon at the MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield followed by Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for anyone who wishes to attend.

Donations in Charlie's memory may be made to organizations supporting heart disease, diabetes, or Alzheimer's research, causes close to his heart.
