Loveridge, Charles Leigh Jr., of Marshfield, passed away on February 21, 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Mary Josephine (Cochran). Dear father of David Michael Loveridge, Charles Timothy Loveridge, Lucy Leigh Loveridge, Lawrence Joseph Loveridge, Katherine Susan Loveridge, Peter Daniel Loveridge, and Andrew Robert Loveridge. Grandfather of Daniel Loveridge and Harold Dupree. Predeceased by brothers Arthur and Robert Loveridge.
Born in Rutherford, NJ, he was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After living in the Berkshires in Pittsfield, MA for many years, he moved to the South Shore. Charles was employed as a Civil Engineer with the firm Camp Dresser & McKee for 33 years. He was a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America and was very active with this organization. Charles loved to hike, bird-watch, swim, and take photos but also found happiness and relaxation just puttering around the house and playing the piano. He loved a good laugh! He was a devoted family man who will be missed by all who loved him.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home Saturday, February 27 at 8:00 for a 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery.
