Chester W. Perkins of Marshfield passed away on January 25, 2023 at the age of 93. He was raised as a child in Lakeport/ Laconia NH. After high school he joined the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954, he separated with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Taking advantage of his GI Bill he entered Keene State College. While there he met his first wife, Claire, Elizabeth Castaw. After graduation the two married and headed to Marshfield, MA to start a new job and raise a family.

Chester was hired in 1960 to help develop the Industrial Arts program at Marshfield High School. He taught there until 1965 when he received an offer to develop the Industrial Arts program for Scituate High School. He worked there as a teacher and cross country coach until finally retiring in 1980. An avid Golfer, he was a member at both Marshfield Country Club and Green Harbor golf course. Sadly Claire passed away in 2004 and he re-married a year and a half later to Doris Krensky whom he met while playing bridge. He moved down to Plymouth where they remained happily married until her passing in 2018. He continued living in Plymouth at Benchmark assisted living facility up until the time of his passing.

Chester was the beloved husband of the late Claire (Castaw) Perkins and the late Doris (Pike) Krensky Perkins; loving father of Joseph Perkins and his wife Jennifer of Kingston, Michael Perkins and his wife Kathy of Goodyear, AZ, Susan Wright and her husband Bruce of Northfield, VT, and David Perkins and his wife Lisa of Norwood; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey and James Perkins, Phillip Perkins, Kyla, Eric, Abigail and Justin Wright, Alex Perkins, and great-grandchildren Olivia, Charlie, Emmy, Hunter, and Kallen. Son of the late Chester W. and Elsie C. (Grover) Perkins, he was dear brother of Sonny "Jay" Perkins.

All are welcome to join the family on Saturday, February 4, 2023 for an hour of visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
