Howes, Claire M. (Roche), of Marshfield, passed away on May 31, 2015 at the age of 87. Loving wife to the late Warren H. Howes, Claire is survived by her children Margaret C. Kiley of Marshfield, Kevin J. Howes (Michele) of Weymouth, and Mark H. Howes (Camille) of East Taunton, 11 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and her sisters Kay MacDonald and Virginia Bernatchez, both of Canada. Claire was born in Boston and raised on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was the second of eight children of the late Ernest and Margaret Roche. She was the sister of the late Dorothy MacKenzie, Mary Stearns, Lorraine Frieburger, Ernest Roche and Elaine Bouchard.
Claire was a high school graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Charlottetown, P.E.I. She then went on and graduated from the Prince County Nursing School in Summerside, P.E.I. in 1952. Claire was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Robert Breck Brigham Hospital, Boston as head nurse on the orthopedic floor. She attended a dance hall on Mass Avenue, Boston where she met and later married her late husband Warren. They lived together in Boston for a short while and then moved to Norwell. They built a house on the North River in Marshfield where they spent the rest of their days. She worked at South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland where she retired in 1993. Claire was a loving mother, aunt, friend and grandmother to all. She was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her family.
