Claire M. (Murphy) White of Marshfield passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of John White and mother of Laurie Stevenson of Palmer and William White of Marshfield; cherished grandmother of Victoria, Elizabeth, and Alexander. Dear sister of Patricia Ryan and her husband John of Plymouth and Jane McSweeney and her late husband Michael of Dedham. Claire was predeceased by her brother Jack and two sisters, Mary and Anna. She also leaves many loving and devoted nieces and nephews.

Claire was a devout Irish Catholic (OFD) with a heart much bigger than her 4'10" stature! She was a loving wife for 52 years to her husband, John. They enjoyed many years of travel to destinations such as Ireland, Italy, Germany, and Aruba. In addition, they spent winters with their many friends in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida.

Claire was a caring and supporting wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, She was that neighbor who would always visit or bring by a meal if you weren't feeling well. She spent 20 wonderful years caring for her "kids" through the Pilgrim Area Collaborative.

When not spending time with family or at work, Claire could be found shopping with friends or having her hair and nails done. There was never a shoe store that Claire didn't like. She really enjoyed hosting friends by the pool. She was also a small but mighty Officer of the Marshfield Lodge of Elks where she looked forward to her visits with friends at the lodge and attended many State and National Conventions.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield and will include an Elks Lodge of Sorrow service at 5:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery of Marshfield.
