Villa, Clare B. (King), of Green Harbor, passed away on May 23, 2016 at the age of 87 after a period of failing health. Clare is predeceased by her husband James Villa. She is the beloved Aunt of Roxann MacDonald of Falmouth, who is also her goddaughter, Patricia Sergio, also of Falmouth, the late Mary Santoro. Clare leaves Michael Villa and the extended Villa and Ethier families, many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong friend Sister Catherine Gilmore and her devoted friend and caregiver of many years, Maureen Reimer, both of whom she loved dearly.
Clare was born and raised in Boston and moved to Brockton with her new husband James, whom she lost at a young age, then eventually settled in Green Harbor, where she truly loved the close knit community and neighbors who care so much for each other.
Clare enjoyed a career as a Confidential Secretary with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 41 years, and traveled the world with her niece Mary Santoro until Mary's passing last year. She was a true dog lover, and will be missed by her companion Bugsy.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Norwell VNA, the Golden Living Rehabilitation Center in Plymouth, and South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, for the loving care they provided Clare in her times of need.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home at 10:30 will conclude with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
