Constance (Morgan) Ruisi, of Kingston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 11, 2023 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her father Gilbert Northrop Morgan and mother Dorothy (Hammond) Morgan of Westerly, RI, stepmother Jean (Forden) Morgan of West Hartford, CT, former husband Charles E. Ruisi, and her son Robert G. Ruisi both of Marshfield. Affectionately known as "Connie" to family and friends, dear sister of Wendy (Morgan) Bush of Portland, ME, loving mother of Scott H. Ruisi of Plymouth, Stephen G. Ruisi and his wife Laura of Kingston, and James J. Ruisi of Plymouth. Cherished grandmother of Ben, Charles, Sammy, Emma, Isabella, Tyler, Jacob and Madison.
Born in Westerly, RI on August 16, 1942, Connie spent summers with her family at her grandmother's home, a short walk from Misquamicut Beach. Her artistic talents appeared in her early teens when she designed the pattern and sewed the famous "McMillen Blouse" to be sold at an upscale children shop in Watch Hill, RI.
She was a graduate of Westerly High School (class of 1960) where her yearbook quote was "Be friendly, be vivacious, and be liked!". She attended Pine Manor Junior College and the University of Rhode Island (class of 1964). Following graduation, she got married, taught Textiles at Mount Ida College in Newton and moved to Detroit, MI before moving back east and settling in Marshfield. She worked for the Marshfield Public School Administration as the Volunteer Coordinator. Connie later was an advertising manager for the Marshfield Mariner before buying Arrow Personnel, an employment agency in Pembroke. Upon selling her business, she worked for New England Dairy Deli Association as a freelance writer. She later worked at Human Services Options as well as Plymouth WIC before retiring.
Connie was a people person who loved to give hugs and kisses and could tell hysterical stories. She was a great cook. As a mother, she built a home with endless unconditional love and support for her two sets of twin boys. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holiday meals. She also loved the summer cookout on her back porch in Marshfield overlooking the South River and Humarock Beach. She loved Elvis! She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and shared her passion with her sister and her four boys whom she adored. She loved watching her boys compete in athletics and was their biggest fan, always making her famous "two touchdown chicken soup" before the big game. Connie was blessed to have great circles of friends. She loved having dinners, playing Scrabble and Bridge and traveling with them.
She will be remembered for her kind, warm spirit that was infectious to all who got to know her.
On behalf of the Ruisi family, a special thank you to the staff at the Maplewood unit at Wingate in Kingston for the care and compassion they showed to Connie over the past 8 years.
