Constance Wade Mitchell, Age 93, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at LifeCare Center of Scituate. Beloved wife of the late Alden Mitchell. Connie was born in 1923 in Scituate, MA to William and Caroline Wade. Her family arrived in Scituate in 1630 from England, on the Ship Arbella, and continued to reside in Scituate throughout the generations. She was a graduate of Scituate High School and Brockton Business College. Connie married her high school sweetheart, Alden, in 1943. They met in seventh grade and were married for 65 years. She worked as a legal assistant in California while Alden was stationed in India during WWII. After returning to Scituate, they ran the Scituate Cleansers for 25 years in North Scituate and Scituate Harbor.

After retiring from the cleaning business, Connie worked for Jack Conway Real Estate Company in sales and as his Scituate Office Manager for 22 years. After retiring from Conway in 1988, she opened a framing business called "Frame It By Connie" which she enjoyed for thirteen years. After living in Scituate her entire life, in 1978 she and Alden moved to Marshfield Hills and became active in the community. They especially loved hosting the North River Arts Society Arts Festival in their yard for 38 years.

Connie was an active member of The North Community Church in Marshfield Hills which she truly loved. She was an associate member of the Scituate Rotary Club and received an Honorary Paul Harris Award. She was an active member of the Marshfield Community League and prepared their newsletter for several years. She was also involved in a financial investment club called The WOW CLUB.

Connie and Alden loved to travel, with Hawaii as their favorite destination, returning fifteen consecutive years. They also loved Europe and toured the Gardens of many different countries and traveled extensively in the United States. Connie loved to cook, entertain and go to the theatre. In her later years she loved her computer games and her game shows. Her greatest joy in life was her family, three children, seven grandchildren and TWENTY GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN. Connie is survived by two daughters and a son; Deborah M. Witham (Bill) of Naples, FL, John D. Mitchell (Susan) of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Betsey B. Lindstrom (Richard) of Raleigh, NC.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at The North Community Church, 72 Old Main Street, Marshfield Hills (Off Route 3A). There will be visitation with the family starting at 1pm, with a Funeral Service at 2pm, both held at The North Community Church. After the service there will be a fellowship gathering across the street at the Church Hall. Burial Service will be private.
