Cynthia Riley, lovingly known as Nana, was born on December 14, 1936, to John and Dolena McGowan. She passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family who will miss her dearly.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Lawrence MacKenzie, and her beloved daughter, Bonnie Laurel Ridley. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dave Riley; her two sons, Bruce MacKenzie (Fran) and Phillip MacKenzie (Lauri); and her siblings, John McGowan (Pricilla) and Evelyn Haight.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Neal Andreson (Allie), Bethany Seaberg (Paul), Dolena Brown (Rhett), Ryan Ridley (Lindsey), Alyssa, Amy, Dylan Mackenzie, Corey Gloster, and Brendan Dunne; and her great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brandt, Lyla Andreson, Summer, and Paul Seaberg.

Cynthia was a devoted member of First Congregational Church in Marshfield, Massachusetts, where her faith and community were an important part of her life. She found joy in quilting, putting her creativity and care into every piece she made. She also loved to travel, especially to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, a place that held a special meaning for her and connected her to the Scottish heritage she took great pride in. Her love of family, travel, creativity, and heritage were woven into the many wonderful memories she created throughout her life.

Cynthia was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Her warmth, creativity, devotion, and love will live on through the family she cherished so deeply.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. and will conclude with a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
