Carter, Daniel F. of Marshfield, born and raised in Dorchester. Passed away bravely from bile duct cancer on November 16, 2016. Dan was the beloved husband of Maryellen (Donovan) and devoted father of Danielle, Joseph, and Matthew all of Marshfield. Brother of Kathryn of Quincy, Maureen and Robert Carolan of Quincy, Ginny and John Lowe of Brockton, Anne Lorraine and Robert Fontaine of West Yarmouth, Michael of Bellingham and Ben Sardella of California. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Moira (Shea) and brother Cliff. Son-in-Law of Frances Donovan and the late James of Canton. Dan is also survived by his many in-laws, Jay and Pat of Oklahoma, Richard and Joan of Marshfield, Paul and Joanne of Canton, Robert and Corinne of Virginia, Nancy and Kevin Crane of New Hampshire, Janet and Robert Cleary of Braintree. Dan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many friends.

Dan graduated from Boston Tech and was a proud retired member of IBEW Local 103.

Proud "Grandfather" to 4 legged Chewy and the late Bailey, Dan loved golfing, spending time with family and friends and was an avid Boston sports fan.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
