Babcock, David B., of Marshfield, passed away on May 23, 2016 at the age of 75. David was the beloved husband of Sandra (Rowan) Babcock and the loving father of Rachel Babcock and her husband Leigh Braunstein of Marshfield and Sarah Babcock of Marshfield. Dear grandfather of Noah, Ethan, and Eli, David leaves his brother Richard Babcock and his wife Carol of Oneida NY and several nieces and nephews. David was cared for lovingly by the staff of Allerton House in Marshfield for the past two years and by Cranberry Hospice in his final days.

David was born and raised in Oneida, New York. His career as a high school teacher spanned 33 years, during which time he taught in the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill School District and the Jamesville-DeWitt School District, where he also served as Chairperson of the English Department. He loved his work and was devoted to seeing the best in each of his students, influencing countless lives over his long career. David's life was one of purpose and commitment to his family and friends. Known for his sweet tooth and kind soul, he always found the humor in life and enjoyed travel, reading, crossword puzzles and bird watching.
