David A. Caswell of Marshfield passed away on December 13, 2021 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Lynch) Caswell; loving father of Brian Caswell and his wife Linda of Marshfield, John Caswell and his wife Nancy of South Carolina, Susan (Caswell) Brown and her husband Douglas of Hanson, and the late Jodian (Caswell) Merrill; cherished grandfather of Brian Jr., David, and John Paul Caswell, Joseph and Walter Caswell, Eric and MSGT Douglas Brown, and James Caswell and Amanda Merrill, and 8 great-grandchildren. Son of the late Wesley and Helen (Allen) Caswell, he was the dear brother of Joanne Caswell, Frank Caswell, Helen Montana, and the late Mary Maguire.
David was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a hard worker, putting in the long hours as successful restaurant owner of Caswell's Seafood in Weymouth and Marshfield, which he founded and ran until his retirement. When he wasn't working, David loved the ocean and being near the water. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family in the Fieldston home he built, and family vacations to the lake house in New Hampshire. He will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street (Rte 3A) in Marshfield.
