Obituary

David A. Coggeshall Jr, veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away November 18, 2023 while surrounded by loved ones at the VA hospital in West Roxbury, MA.

He will be remembered as an honorable soldier with a big heart living in a challenging world. As a highly talented carpenter, he built everything he touched from the ground up, including his legacy that he leaves behind. Adventures outdoors was his escape; he loved fishing, bon fires, mountain biking & catching reptiles or critters with his kids. Among his favorite things to do with family were going to the Marshfield Fair, cheering on the New England Patriots, rock & roll music & dancing; he was the life of the party.

He held his children in the highest regard and was an avid believer in them, always reminding them to never give up in anything they choose to pursue. Loyal to his family & friends, there in a heartbeat with a helping hand.

Leaving behind his legacy, he is survived by his six children: Amber Steele of Brockton MA, Heather Coggeshall of NC, Darcee Coggeshall of Canton MA, Brandee Coggeshall of Braintree MA, Sheena Coggeshall of Braintree MA, son David R. Coggeshall of Braintree MA, eight grandkids, as well as former wife & mother of his children Lauren-Steele-Coggeshall of Braintree MA. Late father David A. Coggeshall of Marshfield MA, his mother Beverly McNiel & her husband Scott McNiel of FL, brother James Coggeshall of FL, sister Kimberly & brother in-law Mike Hyman of NC, & sister Cheryl & her husband Sydney Thibeault of ME. As well as extended families, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew's & many close friends.

Burial will be in the Braintree Cemetery, Plain Street in Braintree on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. For those planning to attend the graveside service, please note that the funeral procession will form at the entrance to the cemetery.
