Currier, David Woodman, of Marshfield, formerly of Duxbury and Boston, passed away on September 9, 2021 at the age of 97. He was born in Amesbury, MA on March 8, 1924, son of the late David L. and Deana (Creed) Currier.
David was predeceased by his partner of 59 years, Robert Edmond Corriveau. and his sisters, Lillian Currier and Helen Francis Ball. He leaves his nephew, Leslie Ball and his wife Martha (Merrill) Ball of Scituate and his niece, Elizabeth (Ball) Ford and her husband Stephen of Palo Alto, CA. He also leaves his great-niece Jennifer (Ball) Cronan and her husband Michael of North Andover, his great-nephew Gregory Ball and his wife Lindsey of Medford, NJ, and four great-great nieces and nephew Avery, Sadie, Serafina, and Aiden.
David graduated from Amesbury High School, class of 1941 and was also a graduate of Burdett College in Lynn, MA, class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
David worked as Cargo Sales Manager for Sabena Belgium World Airlines for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He held a similar position at Atlantic Coastline Rail Road prior to joining the airline. He was a patron of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for over 39 years, and also a patron of the Friends of the Boston Public Garden.
David enjoyed traveling throughout Europe during his working career and continued in retirement. The Cotswold Village Chipping Camden was one of his favorite destinations and where he spent several months each Fall. He also enjoyed many winters in Naples, Florida.
A Graveside Service will be held in the Mayflower Cemetery of Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity in David's memory.
