David I. Fleming, Jr., age 86, of Rockland, formerly of Hyde Park and Milton, passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born to David (Dovey) and Peg Fleming, he was one of twelve children. David cherished his 60-year marriage to the late Patricia Ann (Frawley) and was a devoted father to Patti (Sean), David (Kris), Jackie (Coleman), Danny (Jackie) and Dennis (Karin). He was adored by his nine grandchildren: Jake, Owen, Patrick, Kylie, Ryan, Alyssa, Lynsey, Madison and Skylar.

After graduating Hyde Park High School, he served in the army. David was a true "superman" to his family and friends, working two full time jobs, as a Court Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as a foreman for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, all while raising his five children. David's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He was a regular at his children's sporting events and later at those of his grandchildren. Everyone knew and loved "Papa" and he in turn loved everyone. He will be sorely missed by all, but we know that he is where he wants to be, with his beloved wife Pat and his son David.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield, followed by burial in the Couch Memorial Cemetery, Union Street in Marshfield.
