David A. Johnson of Marshfield passed away on September 2, 2020 at the age of 70. David was the beloved husband of Sharon (Foss) Johnson; loving father of Kimberly Johnson of Kingston, Leslie Leary and her husband Mike of Whitman, and Erik Johnson and his wife Erin of Easton; cherished grandfather of Maura, Colleen, Georgia, Seamus, and James; dear brother of Donald Johnson.

David came to the beach as a kid and fell in love with this little town of Marshfield. He and his wife Sharon would eventually move their family of five to Marshfield where David would stay and live out his days. He was drawn to the beach and appreciated everything the town had to offer. David loved the idea that he lived so close to the beach and that it was cooler at his house than in the center of town. David raised three kids who all graduated from Marshfield High School, two of whom would go off to college and one would join the workforce. He was very proud to send his kids off to college, an experience that he never had.

David could always be found at the high school football and softball fields cheering on his kids. He was their biggest fan. David would often be seen whipping around town in his Ford Bronco on his way to pick up his kids up at some sort of practice, or cutting out of work early to attend an away football/softball game in some obscure far away town on the Cape.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.
