Dean S. Hobbs of Marshfield Hills, age 70, passed away on December 15, 2018 suddenly at his home. Dean was born on September 29, 1948 in Boston. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1967, Bryant and McIntosh Business School in 1972 and UMass Boston in 1980. He served three years in the Army with an honorable discharge.

Dean worked in the subsidized housing field for 33 years, retiring from Mass Housing in Boston in 2011.

Beloved husband of Caroline (Anderson) Hobbs of Marshfield Hills, son of Helen M. Hobbs of Marshfield and brother of Rep. Cory Atkins of Concord. Dean also leaves his nephew Dean Atkins and his wife Meredith and his niece Casey Atkins and her husband Alex Brown and their families all of Concord and his beloved yellow lab - Maggie.

Dean loved the out doors and was an avid saltwater fisherman and a hunter. He was a member of the Marshfield Rod and Gun Club and various environmental organizations.

Visiting hours on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rt 139) in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the North and South Rivers Watershed Assoc., PO Box 43, Norwell, MA 02061, an organization that protects the waters that Dean so loved and has fished since he was 6 years old.
