Debra Jo MacPhail (McDowell) passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023 after a long illness. Born at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, Maine in 1958 to Joan Cyr (St. Pierre) and Jimmy McDowell, she moved to Massachusetts as a child and went to Duxbury High school. She worked many positions throughout her life in the healthcare system, from being a HHA to a phlebotomist.
Deb was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. She devoted her life to caring for her handicapped daughter, Jessica, who passed in 2012, and her family and friends. She was also the loving mother of Vanessa and Benjamin (passed in 1985). She was always there for anyone, a true friend to everyone she came across. She loved being near the ocean and had to take a daily drive. Live music was something she enjoyed going to see many times a week with her friends. Her day was not complete without an ice coffee trip.
She is survived by her daughter Vanessa, her grandchildren Jameson, Nathaniel (his girlfriend Rory), and Gage, her sister Valerie (Rob) and their children Mark, Matthew and Brett, and brother Mark (Linda) and their children Sydney and Nicholas, and lifelong friend Diane Ghalbouni. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, a great nephew, and so many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her brother Gregory, her parents, and her children Benjamin and Jessica.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Rock Bible Church, 267 Carver Road in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deb's memory will be greatly appreciated by the family to offset funeral and other costs related to her illness, online at Debra Jo MacPhail Funeral Fund
