Sheehan, Dianne M. (Hayward) of Marshfield, surrounded by her children passed away peacefully on December 3, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Paul H. Sheehan, 1 ^st . Sgt., USMC, dear mother of Mark Sheehan and his wife Debbie of Waltham, Paul Sheehan of Anchorage, Alaska, Chris Sheehan of Bridgewater, Monica McDermott of Palatine, IL, David Sheehan and his wife Jean Magistrale of Sausalito, CA, Brian Sheehan of Bridgewater, Sean Sheehan of Kingston, and Ellen Sheehan and her wife Robyn Dewey of Dedham; grandmother of Natalie Dianne Sheehan; sister of the late Cynthia Costa, Dianne leaves many nieces, nephews and friends

Dianne (Dee) attended Boston Teachers College, retired from Johnson and Johnson Orthopedics and worked as a librarian both at the Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield for many years and the Boston Public Library in her teens. She has a life -long love of books, movies and travel. She traveled internationally to Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Puerto Rico and Columbia. She took a dream trip to Kenya on safari. It changed her and was a highlight of her life. She was known for her quick wit, her baritone laugh and great sense of humor.

Visiting of hours will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield.  Funeral procession from the funeral home on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston.
