Dianne "Di" Lynne Rodger, loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend, passed away peacefully at New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Peekskill, NY on October 22, 2022 with her daughter CJ and sister Jeanie by her side. She courageously battled cancer for five years, always keeping her positive spirit.
She is survived by her loving daughter Catherine J. Rodger (CJ) and life partner Matthew Richard of Poughkeepsie, New York; Sister Jean Rodger Loud, Nephew Michael Loud of Scituate, MA; Nephew William (Billy Jr.) and Niece Cheryl Rodger of Florida; and beloved cousins and friends. Predeceased by nieces Donna Doughty and Laura Rodger; Daughter of the late Alexander G. Rodger Jr. and Catherine A. (Piazza) Rodger.
She was 68 years old and was born in Quincy, MA, raised in Braintree, and resided in Marshfield for 25 years until she moved to New York to be taken care of by CJ. Dianne was a graduate of Braintree High School, class of 1972 and after graduating she went to work at John Hancock in Boston, MA from 1972-2003. She then worked for Ameriprise Financial in Plymouth, MA from 2003-2011, and worked for Roche Brother's in Marshfield, MA part-time until she retired in 2018.
Dianne was a past Board of Director & Executive Officer of the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club as well as a past member of the Marshfield Housing Authority. Her involvement with the Boys & Girls Club started from the very beginning stages and has been one of her greatest prides and accomplishments to see how far the club has grown throughout the years. She took pride in her involvement with the Housing Authority to help improve the residences at Tea Rock Gardens where she resided before moving to New York in 2018.
She was well known in the community through her own work and was the kind of person everyone loved because of her kindness, generosity, and selflessness. She was also known to have an inseparable bond with her daughter CJ and Dianne's adoption story has touched many friends and family throughout their lives. Dianne's legacy will continue to live on through her daughter CJ and her memories cherished through countless family and friends.
The family is grateful for the community coming together to help, donate and celebrate the life of Dianne. We could not have asked for a more supportive group of friends and loved ones coming together for an exceptional and loving person. There's no place like home and we are thankful Dianne can rest at her happy place at Brant Rock beach where she would watch the waves and be at peace. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club.
