Dietrich Jung, of Marshfield, passed away on May 10, 2018 at the age of 95. Husband of the late Mary (McKettrick) Jung, Dietrich leaves his dear friend and caregiver, Marcia Laffin of Marshfield.

Dietrich was born in Germany and was drafted in to the German Army at the age of 16. He served in Africa and Russia before being captured and brought to the U.S.A. as a Prisoner of War. He would later say this was the first time in his life he had had enough to eat. Dietrich relocated to the U.S. and opened his own prototype tool making company, Idea Development Labs in Scituate, which he sold about 20 years ago.

An hour of visitation on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield, will conclude with a funeral procession to the First Congregational Church, 1981 Ocean Street, Marshfield for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.
