Donald I. Amado, Sr., a life-long resident of Duxbury, passed away on June 28, 2022 at the age of 66. He leaves his beloved companion and life partner, Sandy Santos, and children Donald I. Amado, Jr., and wife Catherine of Brockton, Dion Amado of Holbrook, and Desaree Amado of Worcester. Son of the late Antonio and Mary (Rogers) Amado, he leaves his siblings Alice "Lally" Robinson (husband Clyde) of Texas, Marlene Harrison of Raynham, Manuel "Manny" Amado of Carver, Richard "Ricky" Amado (wife Gail) of California, Donna Amado-Hopson (husband William) of Atlanta, and Dean Amado (wife Maureen) of Brighton. He was proud a grandfather of Damauri, D'Anthony, Dion Amado, Jr., and Drea Earley. Don also leaves many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Duxbury High School, Donnie joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service. He was a born salesman and sold cars in the area for over 40 years. His personality, people skills and infectious smile turned customers into friends while building long life relationships. If you saw a Cadillac driving in the Plymouth area it was most likely sold by Don in one of his sharp suits. After retiring from sales, Don could not stay away from the car business and continued by delivering cars for the local dealerships he previously worked for. He will never be forgotten and continues to live in our hearts.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, with visiting hours from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Donald will then be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
