Donald E. Lynch of Duxbury, MA passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022 at the age of 77. Originally a resident of Port Chester, NY, Donald has lived with his sister's family in Duxbury for the last 20 years.
Donald was born on November 20, 1944 in Elizabeth, NJ to Frederick C. Lynch and Frances M. Lynch, both formerly of Ireland. The family then moved to Port Chester, NY. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1962 and was then trained in accounting. Donald began a career in accounting for construction firms in New York City and it was then that his love for NYC grew. He loved to introduce family members to all the City had to offer. Christmas time in Rockefeller Center was a particular favorite. This extended to all the family who came to visit from "across the pond". When he was younger, he loved to travel. Donald traveled to the "Homeland" of Ireland many times, but also visited Africa, London, Rome, Paris and many other parts of Europe. He would bring home treasures for all the kids and always regale us with his slide shows and stories.
Donald is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Lynch and her husband George Fricker of Duxbury, his brother Thomas Lynch and his partner Mary DeGennaro of Clinton Corners, NY, and his sister in-law Carol Lynch of Rye, NY; his nieces and nephews Sharon DeCastro of Pembroke, MA, Tracy McDonald of Halifax, MA, Michael Fricker of Duxbury, MA, Connor Lynch of Austin, TX, Owen Lynch of Bend, Oregon, Jennifer Lynch
D'Ariano of Stamford, CT, and Debra Lynch Cruz of Darien, CT, and six great nieces; Julie, Lauren, Danielle, Brittany, Kristin, and Lauren. In addition to his parents, Donald is predeceased by his eldest brother, Frederick C. Lynch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, MA. Burial to follow in Mayflower Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
