Obituary

Donald (Don) Leo Veinot, 85 of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021. He was born in Somerville, MA, son of the late Lossie and Emily (Eichel) Veinot of Newton, MA. In 1953, he gradutated from Newton High School and went on to earn a degree from Boston University. After graduating, he started his first job at Ludlow Textiles, and ended his career at the same company after 42 years.

Don "Red" Veinot was known as an outstanding pitcher as a young adult in Newton's Art Carroll fast-pitch softball league. He will always be remembered for his "dad jokes", his love of all Boston sports teams, his vegetable garden, fishing in Vermont, and reminding anyone who would listen "not to sweat the small stuff".

Don leaves his wife and love of his life for 60 years, Constance (deLong) Veinot; son William Bond and his wife MiJin of Uxbridge, MA and their children Lisa, Kathy, Karen, and 7 great-grandchildren; daughter Deborah Dunlea and her husband Aidan of Cork, Ireland and their children Aaron, Heather, Janine, and Sean; daughter Donna O'Malley and her husband Sean of Marshfield, MA and their children Corey and Owen; brother Richard Veinot (predeceased) and sister Elaine O'Neill of Fairhaven, MA.

A private service will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Donald L.
