It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen DuRoss. Doreen passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at the age of 68, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Doreen was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, and friend.
Doreen was born on June 14, 1956, in Somerville, MA to her parents Dorothy and Richard Rossi. She grew up spending her summers in Marshfield with her brothers Richard Rossi and Walter Rossi; her sisters Karen Rhind and Nancy Connolly, of Marshfield; and her sister Ruthann Mitchell of Florida. She was predeceased by her brother, David Rossi, of Kingston.
Doreen's life was marked by her deep love for her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul DuRoss, with whom she shared many beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised their children who were the pride and joy of her life. Doreen is survived by her daughter, Nicole Davis, and her husband, Keith, from Marshfield, her son, Justin DuRoss, and his wife, Ashley, of Hanover, her son Sean DuRoss of Marshfield and her son, Paul DuRoss, and his wife Kim, of Plymouth.
Doreen was a devoted and loving grandmother to her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness and purpose to her life. She adored spending hours watching them laugh and run at the playground, she was always prepared with a special craft for them to enjoy and always had a snack drawer full of treats. She built lasting memories for them to cherish.
Doreen spent her career as a teacher's aide in preschool classrooms within the Marshfield and Duxbury School systems. Her gentle, caring approach and dedication to the children she worked with left a lasting impression on many young lives.
Summers were a special time for Doreen, as she spent them in Marshfield, surrounded by family and close friends. These moments by the beach were endless. Doreen and her best friend Kathy Adler were tried and true beach goers and loved teaching their children how to hunt down the best crabs, build enormous sandcastles, and relax in the summer sun.
At her wishes, services will be private. May Doreen rest in eternal peace and remain forever in our hearts.
