Dorothea I. (Murray) Gregory of Duxbury MA died peacefully on March 2, 2015 at the age of 97 at Wingate at Silver Lake, Kingston, under the compassionate care of the Oakwood Staff. Dorothea, lovingly known as Dot, was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Boniface (Bunny) Gregory. She was the daughter of the late Cornelius F. and Anna S. (Keefe) Murray and is preceded in death by her six siblings.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Paul and Donna Gregory of Redington Shores, FL, James and Eileen Gregory of Sandwich, MA, Diane and Stephen Grief of Scituate, MA and Carol and Russell Smith of Plymouth, MA, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dot was born in the Cedar Grove area of Dorchester, MA and graduated from St. Gregory's High School. Dot was the youngest of seven, five girls and two boys. She had a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. She loved music and dancing and she and her sisters and friends spent many nights socializing at The Cocoanut Grove and Blinstrubs. She worked for the Walter Baker Company and that is where she developed her infamous fondness of chocolate. After living on the South Shore and Cape Cod, she and her husband settled in Duxbury, MA. She was active with many charities, devoted to her Catholic faith and attended mass regularly. She was an avid crocheter and a very giving person who loved to cook for her family and friends and would never let them leave her home empty handed.

A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Holy Family Parish, 601 Tremont Street , Duxbury, MA 02332. Gifts in her memory can be made to Wingate at Silver Lake, Activities Dept., 17 Chipman Way, Kingston, MA 02364.
