Dorothy May Davis

Dorothy May (Davis) Davis of Halifax passed away on August 27, 2026 at the age of almost 102.

Born in Scituate to Lora (Bates) Davis and Charles E. Davis on October 21, 1924, she grew up in Norwell. She is predeceased by her husband Lincoln W. Davis, Jr. They built their home and raised their three children in Marshfield, where taking care of her children and yes, that includes the four MacDonald boys across the street at times, kept her busy. For a good ten years she also worked as a baker for the Marshfield Public Schools.

Predeceased by her daughter Donna Owen of Halifax, she is survived by her son Stuart Davis and wife RoseMarie of Duxbury and her daughter Diane Roy and husband Robert of Scituate. Her treasured nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and yes, five and maybe more great-great grandchildren kept her hands busy knitting and crocheting.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial in the Central Cemetery of Halifax.
