Obituary
Dorothy C. Quinn, of Kingston, formerly of Marshfield and Quincy, passed away on September 12, 2017. Beloved daughter of the late John M. and Mary E. (Cullen) Quinn of Quincy, she is survived by her loving siblings, John M. Quinn, Jr., of Quincy, Marianne Richard of Marshfield Hills, and Patricia Keeley of Butte, Montana. She was the devoted Aunt to her 10 nephews and nieces, Edward T. O'Donnell (Kathy) of Marshfield, Brian O. O'Donnell of Boston, Jacqueline Q. Brett (Harry) of Hanson, Peter J. Quinn (Debra) of Abington, Michelle Q. Garcia (Sergio) of Quincy, Kathleen Q. Macrina (Brian) of Braintree, Ellen Keeley Oh (Duk) of Portland, OR, Elizabeth Keeley Munro (Mark) of Missoula, MT., and Maura Keeley Dunn (Stephen) of Seattle, WA. She also leaves 27 great-nephews and nieces, whom she adored.
Dorothy was a respected teacher in the Weymouth School System. She graduated from Archbishop Williams High School, B.A. from Boston College and Master's degree from Northeastern University.
Dorothy was an accomplished artist, gardener, and world traveler. Her generosity to the underprivileged was evident her entire adult life, beginning with her friendship with Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker Movement.
The family would like to express special gratitude to the staff at The Inn at Silver Lake, who became like family to Dorothy these last 5 years. Thanks also to the staff of the C.C. Unit at B.I.D. Plymouth for their kind and loving care.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
