Edmund W. Elrick of Marshfield passed away on January 13, 2023 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann T. (O'Reilly) Elrick; loving father of Edmund Elrick and his wife Maryellen, Debra Ennis and her husband John, and Brenda Cipullo and her husband Jim, all of Kingston; cherished grandfather of Erin and Patrick Leith, Megan Campbell, Danielle and Ryan Ennis, Kyle and Jake Cipullo, and great grandfather of Ayla and Bryn Doherty and Emilia, Bailey, and Lily Campbell. Dear brother of Richard Elrick and his wife Anna, Barbara Turner and her husband Tom, Joan Stevens and her husband Stephen, Ellen Pearce and her husband Jack, Chris Elrick, and the late William Elrick; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a graduate of Quincy High School class of 1954. After graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving his term on the USS Gearing DD710. Following his honorable discharge in 1962 he married the love of his life, Ann O'Reilly. While living in Braintree, he worked for Citgo where he worked in service station maintenance and repair. Soon after starting their family, they moved to Marshfield where he opened his own electrical company, Elrick Electric.
Ed was a member of the National Audubon Society where he participated in the annual bird count for many years. He rarely left home without his binoculars. He also never missed an opportunity to travel and enjoyed many golf trips, camping adventures, fishing outings and family vacations.
After finding his love for the game of golf in 1976, Ed became a member at the Marshfield Country Club, where he served on many committees including the Board of Governors. During his time at "the club" he organized the 7:30 Elrick group, which developed into many lifelong friendships.
Ed was the biggest supporter of all his children and grandchildren. He went from coaching little league and youth hockey to never missing dance recitals, football games, baseball games and wrestling matches, to name a few.
